Tales of the Stormwind Regiment
Marijn sat down on a chair next to the table where he had been sitting before he went to help Irene. He rubbed the soft beard on his chin that had grown in the two weeks he was out. There was nothing known about the one who committed the suicide bombing on the Command Center. Whether there was something more to it then it seemed was to be wondered. But except the bombing, the city had been awfully quiet. From the files he went trough there only were a couple of brawls and a few thefts, nothing out of the ordinary. It seemed so strange that the man who had attacked him suddenly layed so low, unless offcourse he was behind the bombing. It might be best to just conclude that and continue. There was nothing left from the man who walked in with the deadly bombs, just a pile of ash, useless ash... He thaught about the man who attacked him for a second and wondered. What did the man want. And what did he forget that drove the man to do this? He had never seen the man before. Marijn coudn’t honoustly tell. Over the years he had gotten quite the few knocks on the head, he had even suffered from amnessia. Who knows, he might have actually hurt him, yet he forgot... For now, it didn’t matter. They just had to find the man, and arrest him. Yet, he apeared to have some kind of strange magic. Marijn could remember how he saw the people, frozen in place and a unseen force, refraining him from unsheething his weapon. Yet, how were they going to lure the man out, he could be watching this very moment...
After a while of thinking, Marijn decided there was not much he could do right now. Just continue their lives, untill they finally get a chance. It just didn’t seem right... Ignoring the man who threathend him, and his privates and friends. Marijn stood up, nearly trowing his chair over and walked down the stairs. Once downstairs he glanced around the room, the usual was going on. Irene was working on some paperwork. Most privates were out on patrol except one... A familiar looking face, it was private Linaris. Marijn walked up to her with a smile, a familiar scent hung around her, yet disguised by parfum. Kia glanced at Marijn and wanted to head towards the door but Marijn pulled her back with a smile. “S-something wrong, sir?” Marijn grabbed his notebook and scrabled something down before showing it to Kia. ‘I didn’t think you were one for wearing so much... Parfum?’ Kia nodded slightly “I... Uhm... I just want to smell nice for once!” Marijn shook his head and wrote another note ‘What did I tell you about lying?’ Kia swallowed and knew she had been caught. Marijn pulled another note out to her. ‘Are you using drugs, again?’ Kia violently shook her head. “N-no, I woudn’t ever again!” Marijn sighed and nodded before pushing the woman against the stairway. “What are you going to do!?” Kia tried to push the man of her with force but clearly invain. Marijn moved his hand towards her head and placed his thumb between her two eyebrows. “W-what... What are you doing!?” Marijn smiled faintly without replying. He closed his eyes and the same second Kia stopped struggeling. Her arms just fell alongside her body, asif she had just stopped living. The only thing keeping her up standing was the man’s thumb, planted between her eyebrows. And there the two stood, a strange side to behold.
The man pushed her against the stairway, she tried with all her might to push the man of her, she felt his thumb being planted against her forehead. As the man closed his eyes, she could feel her strength ebbing away. Her arms hung limb at her side, she glanced around the room, she wanted to call Irene for help but she already noticed but ignored the whole scene. She was powerless against the man, she felt the urge to yawn, but without control of her body, she just stood there. She noticed she was feeling incredebly sleepy. Trying to fight it off, she slowly fell asleep while standing there.
“Kia, can you hear me?” The voice echoed all over the place. She didn’t even know where she was. It was dark around her, blackend. The only thing she could see anywhere was her own naked body. She could hear the voice again, louder then before. “Kia, can you hear me?” The voice deemed familiar. It was the voice of Marijn. She tried to speak but nothing happend. “Are you having trouble speaking?” She nodded towards the vast darkness surounding her. It felt like she was floating trough space. “Just try to focus on speaking, you’ll succeed.” after a few attempts of hopelessly trying to make a sound she finally succeeded. “W-where... Am I?” she asked. “You are currently nowhere... Well, technicly we’re still at the command center.” She glanced around once again, hoping to actually see something, and she did. She was a soft light that faded the darkness away around it. She headed towards it and slowly noticed that it was Marijn. He was simply standing there, emitting light to the still blackend area. It gave her a scent of hope. “Can you see me now, Kia?” she slowly nodded in reply. She suddenly felt gravity, pulling her to the ground. Thou she could feel she landed on something, it was so dark she didn’t see a thing. Marijn landed infront of her, she felt a kind of admiration for the man coming up. She shook it off her and glanced at the man, still uncertain what was going on. “Tell me, in all honousty. Did you use drugs before coming on duty?” She slowly nodded “I did...” She coudn’t help but tell him the truth, in such a situation it would seem like the best plan. “Alright... I told you, you will be punished.” She felt a pinch of fear coming up after hearing those words. She still had no idea where she was or what this is and he said he will punish her? “Stand up.” Kia slowly crawled back onto her feet and glanced at the man. “Are you ready?” Marijn asked. She found it an most absurb question, offcourse she wasn’t ready... Nor would she ever be. However, she just wanted to get it over with. She firmly stood her place and nodded “I am ready.” she spoke, uncertainly.
Marijn stepped forward untill he was just a meter infront of the naked woman. A slightly smile apeared on his face. Before Kia knew it a large white circle spread across the floor, she followed it before looking it the man infront of her. Large bright wings apeared from his back, formed out of light it seemed. She was stunned, she had never seen something like this before. The wings grew brighter and larger till they wrapped around the two of them. A shining halo of light apeared above the man his head. She stared at the scene, impressed yet also scared. Frightend even. Yet, it looked so beautifull. The man took a step towards her, and the wings of light that surounded them pulled her closer to him. She was standing only a hair away from the man. She felt a warmness in her, like something she had never felt before. The man slowly moved his hand towards her head. She coudn’t even more, the light that danced around them, it was perfect. And the man infront of her, was he an angel? The man moved his thumb towards her forhead and the second the thumb touched the skin of her forhead she saw the darkness around them shatter into a bright light. An incredebly good feeling flowed up from inside her, a kind of pleasure she never felt before. It shot troughout her whole body. She coudn’t even stand so good felt it. The realm around her shatterd and the room they were in slowly re-apeared. She found herself lying on the ground, breathing heavily, shocks of pleasure kept shooting troughout her body. She tried to focus on anything but it was impossible, the feeling just kept pumping trough her body, she just decided to enjoy it for now.
Irene glanced at the two, they had been standing in the same spot for about five minutes. Marijn just stood there, holding up the seemingly lifeless girl with his thumb. It was quite the weird sight, and while she wondered what was going on, she found it best to stay out of it. And then, from one second to the other, Marijn gasped for breath, while stumbeling back. Kia fell to the ground, shakking all over the place. Irene perked an eyebrow as she peered at the scene. Marijn was leaning on his knee’s, trying to regain his breath and what the girl was going, she had no idea. After about a minute Kia finally managed to get up, her body still shaking all over. She stumbled over to Marijn and wrapped herself around him, she whispered in his ear “Let’s do this again, sometime...” Marijn smiled and scrabled something down before giving it to her. She read the note and nodded before walking away towards the door. Infront of the opening she glanced around and trew a aimless sexy look at Marijn before leaving. Marijn, who was still breathing deeply sat down on one of the chairs next to Irene. “What did you do to her?” Irene asked. Marijn smirked before laughing an soundless laugh. He scribled something down and showed it. ‘You’ll see.’ she perked an eyebrow and frowned at the man but decided to ignore whatever just happend and continue with her own work.
The next day training was a little extended becouse Marijn had written Irene to hold her first drill. A drill, wich is most commonly used for newcomers is a training in wich all the commands get spoken about. Normally Marijn would do it himself, but without a voice he was finding it hard to do. So he gave her the small book he once wrote about the commands and hoped for the best. “Right...” Irene was standing infront of four new comers. “Let’s start with the basics, alright?” the privates mubled something as she continued. “First off, will be the command, Fall in. Most commonly used, and quite easy. All you have to do is create a horizontal line infront of the officer that adressed the command... Shall we try it and see, who among you have no brain?” Marijn smirked slightly, if one thing people would fail at then it was creating a damn line. Irene turned around and made of her hands a cone around her mouth before screaming “Fall in!” The privates, quickly made a line behind Irene. She glanced over his shoulder with an annoyed smile “INFRONT OF ME, IDIOTS!” The privates quickly marched all over the place before forming a vertical line infront of her. “Really people, really? I said, HORIZONTAL!” With some groaning the privates finally made their line. Irene took the time to clap sarcasitcly for their acomplishment. “Right, now you folks can stand in a decent line, its time to continue...” The privates glared at her, clearly they weren’t enjoying this as much as Marijn was from the sidelines.
“We’ll continue to the command at attention, this command, most commonly used after the fall in command, will tell you when it’s been enough talking. Once an officer gives this command you will straighten up, breasts forward, and shoulders straight. Legs next to each other and no sloppy movements. When you are at attention, you will not talk unless talked to, you will not move, unless asked to. And you will start every sentence and end every sentence with the word sir, or ma’am. Got that?” The privates who who clearly weren’t paying to much attention nodded. “Right, let’s try it ot then...” She cleared her throat again before screaming “At attention!” Two of the four privates straightend up, while the other two didn’t even bother to try. Irene walked to the most right one, who stood there casually watching her. “Private, is something wrong with you?” The man snorted and smirked “There’s nothing wrong with me, the part in my pants is already at attention for you.” With a smirk he glanced to the side towards the other slacker and gave him an high five. Irene backed off from the man with a frown on her face. “Go run ten laps around the courtyard.” The man nearly broke out in laughter. “Like fell I will!” Marijn sighed silently and stood up before sliding down the small hill he was sitting on. As he left the shadows from the big tree behind him the warm sun greeted him. The broom on his helmet wiggeling abit with every step. He smiled faintly as he saw his armor shine and reflect the sun in all ways. It was good that he had asked for new armor at the quartermaster. It was all shining new. Marijn stopped next to Irene and scrabled something down on his notebook before showing it to her. She nodded slightly and Marijn walked over to the disobeying private. For a few seconds he glanced at the man, observing what he was worth “Hey man, what are you doing... Shoudn’t you clean the building with you’re helmet?” The private laughed shortly again before glancing to the slacker next to him and giving him an high five. Marijn took the chance with deliver a hard plated punch towards the mans unprotected stomach. The man caved in in pain before coughing loudly. Marijn grabbed the man by his hair and pulled him up before showing him a note. ‘Do you’re best.’ it said. As Marijn let go of the mans hair he quickly kicked the mans leg from underneath him to send him falling to the hard ground. He moved his hand to his face before pointing at his eyes and then at them, as a mark of i’ll be watching you. Marijn slowly walked away to the small hill and sat back down in the shadows of the large tree.
After the merciless hit from Marijn the privates did more of their best. And after a while of training and a while of punishments, the group had made a little progress. Especially the one that had been hit. “At attention!” Irene yelled. The four privates quickly straightend up this time, chest forward and shoulders straight. From the four four privates there was one girl, she tried her best, but it seemed like she had trouble standing still in one place. Irene walked to the most right one, wich was till shortly the most disobeying private yet. “State you’re rank, name and number!” The private thaught for a second before replying “Ma’am, Private Andi Flock, infantry 00293, ma’am!” Irene nodded slightly at the man, now she looked at him. He seemed quite normal, if he wasn’t being an annoying pest. She shrugged and continued to the one next to Andi. “State you’re name, rank and number!” The man spoke without any hesitation “Ma’am, Peter Oister, private, infantry 83920, ma’am!” Irene nodded once again and continued to the girl “State you’re number, rank and name!” The girl paniced for a second but barely managed to speak. “Ma’am, medic 21394, private, Katie Newborn, ma’am!” It was kind of soft, but it would suffice. She continued to the last one, who had been doing his bery best to shine. “State you’re rank, number and name!” The man pushed his chest even out more and spoke “Ma’am, private, infantry 98009, Jesper Vast, ma’am!” Irene nodded slightly. “Well, i’m glad you know atleast this now... Let’s continue with the on me command. When this command is given you will form a line behind the officer who adressed it. You can also have a variation on it, for instance on private Vast. Then you will form a line behind him. Then we have to commands after that. Prepare to march, and prepare to jog. But both of them speak for themselfs. If an officer will not walk infront of you he can still yell right or left wheel. Wich means that the leading private of the group will turn a sharp fourtyfive degrees turn to the right of left. Then offcourse you also have the halt command, the leading private will stop in his tracks and the others will stop right behind him. Just make sure there are no gaps in there.” Peter whispered something towards Katie and she in turn perked an eyebrow. She nearly wanted to walk away due to the comment, but becouse she was in attention she coudn’t move away even is she wanted to.
A little while later the training was over, Irene let herself fall in the soft grass underneath the cast out shadows from the tree where Marijn was sitting. “Ughh... These drills are tiresome...” Marijn glanced at her and smiled distantly. Thou he had enjoyed watching her do the training he coudn’t help but think about all the issue’s again. Irene forced herself to sit and smiled at Marijn. “Thank you for allowing me to run you’re drill, Silverstorm.” Marijn made a simple hand gesture to shoo it away like it was nothing. She peered at him and then looked down. “Still troubled about everything that’s going on?” Marijn looked up and slowly nodded. Irne continued “Well, as far as it goes about the one that attacked you... It seems to be related to the worgen girl... And the murder of Steve... From what pieces we have left we can assume that the bombing was his fault aswell...” Marijn nodded slightly. “And as you know, we think it might be either a mage, fell user or shadow user. From you’re report we made out that he can stop the time momentarily, yet... It’s only in, we guess, hunderd meters... So should we able to get in touch again, and he freezes the time... Then we need someone who can take him out from a distance... I’ve been looking around and found a few aplications of sharpshooters... But i’ll give you a report of that later...” Marijn nodded once again before staring infront of him again, unoticable feeling the wound on his back before sighing. Irene lied down next to him and stretched before closing her eyes for a moment. She never really felt at ease closing her eyes in this line of work, the times she had been attacked were countless. Yet, with him along side her, she didn’t have to fear being attacked, she knew the man next to her would with no doubt sence an incoming attack from afar. She opened her eyes again and looked up at the many branches of the giant tree. At times she wished she could be like a tree, never having to worry about all this kind of shit.
Irene placed her quill in the jar with inkt and sighed loudly, she looked around but there was no one up here on the second floor of the command center, no one except her and her tons of paperwork. She glanced down at the work and felt the unkown sort of frustration. One of the most annoying things to do as guard, paperwork... She read the small letters in her head as she went down the paper with her eyes. A form about a new shop in the darven district, underneath that one something about some disturbance at the Pig and Whistle... She craved to be there now she thaught about it. Most folks already went home, but she had decided to run a double shift becouse of Vancerdal. Damn basterd, tricking her like that... If she had known it was just to run more paperwork then normal she would have never said yes. She thaught about the bar again, she craved for a nice drink... Especially after all this... She was already tired from the drill from earlier. Outside she could hear the bells sound twelve times, it was already midnight. She started to lose focus of her work and crashed her face into the papers. She groaned loudly before regaining her work. It was strange, she really didn’t hate paperwork that much, infact it was one of the more pleasent things to see after a long day patrolling, yet she just didn’t feel like it.
She giggled softly to herself, remembering the private from today. Softly she repeated what the man had said “The part in my pants is already at attention for you...” She smirked slightly, what an idiot... It was a shame Marijn had cut in, she had wanted to straighten the man out herself. Now she thaught about it, the best thing to do was just to take the man inside, maybe seduce him abit untill he releases his manlyhood and then cut it off... Maybe she should find him and do it... And while she’s at it maybe burn this damn paperwork along. She groaned and stood up before balancing her way towards the banister. Maybe she should take care of that annoying Vancerdal aswell, he might be her superior but tricking her like this to do so much paperwork was just evil... Maybe she should just kill him... End it all, and that annoying Marijn aswell... Constantly hitting on her while being married, such an asshole he was... From the others she didn’t know where they resided, but she knew where Marijn lived... If she took a griffon she could kill him tonight, and not leave a single bit of evidence, maybe his wife and kid aswell, make sure not to leave eye-witnesses... The boy would be no problem to bring down, and Kainna... Well she hasn’t seen much of her in action but she knew she was though... Yet maybe she could kill her in her sleep. It sounded so good in her ears, she could succesfully do it and maybe blame it on the mysterious killer that had been going around. She blinked a few times and groaned, he vission was all blurry, maybe she had been working to hard for the last couple of hours...
She felt kind of funny aswell now she thaught about it. She glanced at the stairway and saw a funky looking man walking up the stairs. The wall and stairway seemed to be moving on their own. She glanced at the banister wich she was holding onto and noticed the same unregular movement. She felt so funny, what was this... She giggles slightly and glanced at the man. It was a guard, but she coudn’t really see who it was. Where normally a face resides, was now only emptiness. It was kind of frightning now she thaught about it. A man without a face. She reached for the dagger on her belt, and after two times of missgrabbing it she finally got the hilt. She pulled it out in a simple movement, nearly dropping it before balancing it in her two hands. She felt her hands shaking. Her body starting to viberate in the same unregularity as the room, everything was one messed up whirlpool of strangeness. Except the one guard without a face infront of her. Who stood there, as still and silent as the night. She felt an annoying hate coming up in her for the silent faceless man. She tightend the grib around her hilt and laughed out loud, an uncontrollable laughter, this strange feeling... She coudn’t controll herself. She felt asif her mind was being ebbed away, like slowly drifting away from shore into the wide and unkown forbidden sea. And something said her that this man was causing it, it was like a voice was telling it to her. Before she knew she felt herself launch forward towards the man, the dagger ready to penetrate to hard iron armor before tearing trough the soft and delicious flesh of the man. As she still walked forward she felt a hard hit on her head. knocking her to the ground. She groaned and stutterd some unhearable words, before losing conciousness.
Earlier that evening, just a little before midnight Marijn was just walking around in the old town. He overheard some people talking before slowly noticing what was going on, a small group with people had gathered at the command center. There was a gas attack. He had asked Irene to come along earlier that night, but she said she needed to work. so without hesitation Marijn had walked trough the crowed and into the command center. While the other guards were bussy trying to keep the evacuated prisoners calm. He glanced around the damp place. He spotted Irene leaning on the banister, her face going from laughing to a gimace to smirking. Marijn slowly walked up the stairs and carefully watched Irene. She in turn glared at him, it was obvious she wasn’t thinking clear. She looked at her hands before backing of from the banister, while she kept staring at him she misgrabbed her knife twice before slowly pulling it out, her face troubled with a annoyed laugh. She pointed it towards him, he in turn slowly gestured her to calm down, yet seemingly pointless. Irene laughed out loud, a little disturbing. And after her pointless laugh she jumped forward, her knife ready to strike. Without to much ease Marijn walked to the side, avoiding the slowly incomnig strike. He baldend his fist before letting it crash into Irene’s backhead. She fell forward unto the ground, muttering something. Marijn turned her around on her back and tossed her over his shoulder followed by some groans.
Once outside he layed her on the grass where they had sat earlier that day. Her body was shaking en her muscles kept pulling together uncontrollingly. Marijn checked her eyes and frowned. He had no idea what to do about this... Should he just let her rest, or try something... And if he should do something, what was it he had to do? He glanced over his shoulder and saw Samantha coming up, he sighed in releive and let Samantha take over. She and two privates immediatly started treating her, let’s just hope it will all be alright!
